Face Lift (Rhytidectomy)
Face Lift: $3,500 Neck Lift: 3,500 (Face and Neck Lift: $6,500)
What is a Face lift?
In the past, face lifts just tightened your skin, which often created a stretched appearance. With medical and procedural advances, it has become clear that the deep tissue layers must be addressed in order to achieve a long-lasting, natural-looking result. By sculpting the deeper layers of the skin, Dr. Palmer can rejuvenate your face, jaw line and neck without any noticeable signs that you’ve had “work done.”
Benefits of a Face Lift
Although aging is inevitable, a face lift improves your overall appearance by:
- Tightening sagging face and neck muscles
- Softening wrinkled skin
- Smoothing nasolabial folds
- Reducing jowls
Dr. Palmer’s philosophy is that you don’t have to sacrifice quality for affordability.
In the initial consultation, he will perform a thorough examination of your facial shape, skin elasticity and bone structure to determine the approach that will work best for you.
Is A Face/Neck Lift Right For Me?
Women often consider a face and/or neck lift if they have noticed sagging of the skin in the lower face and neck, jowling, bands in the neck, loss of jawline definition, or excess fat in the neck.
How is a Face Lift performed?
Dr. Palmer performs face lift surgery in his in-office operative suite using a combination of IV sedation and local anesthetics.
An incision is made around the ear and hairline to ensure optimum concealment of postoperative scars. The skin of the face is undermined to varying degrees, depending on the degree of facial laxity. The tissue covering the facial muscles (known as the “SMAS”) is tightened with sutures, and any excess skin is then removed. CO2 resurfacing of the skin may be performed concurrently or at a later date. The patient is then sent home the same day when discharge criteria are met.
In your consultation, Dr. Palmer will discuss all of the factors that contribute to the success of your procedure, including healing and expectations. If, at any point, you have questions or concerns, you’ll find that Dr. Palmer is a warm, engaging surgeon who will stay connected with you throughout the process to ensure that you are thrilled with your result.
Face/Neck Lift Recovery
Bruising and swelling can be expected for up to a week. Pain medication will be prescribed and is typically necessary for 3-5 days. A special garment is worn for about a week, depending on the patient. The drain is removed when drainage is minimal. Activities are limited for 2 weeks following surgery. The patient is followed closely, typically seen the day after surgery, at 1 week, 2 weeks, and then 1 month. We continue to follow up patients out to one year.
