I have repaired a number of earlobes damaged by piercings. Sometimes it is as simple as closing a piercing that has pulled through or widened, but we also successfully close large defects resulting from “gauge” type piercings. The key to an aesthetic closure is removing scar tissue and closing in a layered approach from both the front and back of the earlobe. The goal is to restore a natural curve to the earlobe. Typically, after healing has taken place, the ear can be pierced again if desired.
Additionally, I have experience in removing keloids and repairing “pixie ear” deformities resulting from facelift.
Call my office to schedule an appointment to evaluate your concerns involving the earlobe. In most cases the ear can be repaired such that no noticeable evidence of abnormality remains.
